Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Tropical Cyclone Bailu weakened into an area of low pressure over inland Guangdong yesterday morning. The outer rainbands associated with its remnant affected the coast of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional showers and squally thunderstorms. Showers were heavy at first. More than 100 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places, and rainfall even exceeded 150 millimetres in the urban areas and parts of New Territories East. With an anticyclone aloft strengthening, the weather will improve gradually over southern China today and tomorrow. It will be very hot midweek this week. Besides, the area of low pressure over the western North Pacific intensified gradually yesterday. A tropical cyclone appeared to be forming.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Isolated thunderstorms at first. Sunny periods during the day. Temperatures will range between 27 to 32 degrees. Moderate south to southeasterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine and very hot in the following couple of days. The weather will become unsettled towards the weekend.
