Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A southerly airstream is bringing showers to the coastal areas of Guangdong. Locally, around 5 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over parts of New Territories East, Hong Kong Island and Lantau Island this morning. Besides, the area of low pressure to the east of Luzon is intensifying gradually. A tropical cyclone appears to be forming.

Weather forecast for today

Sunny periods and a few showers. Hot with a maximum temperature of about 32 degrees. Light to moderate southeasterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine and very hot in the next couple of days. The weather will become unsettled towards the weekend.
