Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Under the influence of a dry continental airstream, it was sunny over Hong Kong yesterday. Temperatures over most parts of the territory rose to around 33 degrees in the afternoon. It was very dry during the day. The relative humidity fell to 40 per cent or below. The continental airstream will continue to bring fine weather to southern China in the next couple of days. Temperature difference between day and night over the region will be relatively large.

Besides, Tropical Storm Tapah intensified into a severe tropical storm today. At 11 p.m. last night, Tapah was centred about 250 kilometres south-southwest of Okinawa. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 18 kilometres towards the Ryukyu Islands.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Saturday, 21 Sep 2019)

It will be fine. The minimum temperature will be about 25 degrees. Very dry during the day with a maximum temperature of around 32 degrees. Moderate northerly winds, occasionally fresh.

Outlook : Mainly fine and dry with relatively large temperature difference between day and night in the following couple of days.

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

    Weather Situation:
    At 11 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Tapah with maximum sustained winds of about 90 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 24.2 degrees north, 126.5 degrees east. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour towards the Ryukyu Islands.

    Moderate to rough seas.
