During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 2. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Hot weather might cause adverse health effects. The Observatory advises the public to stay on the alert.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Under the influence of a dry continental airstream, the weather is generally fine over southern China.

At noon, Severe Tropical Storm Mitag was centred about 830 kilometres southeast of Taibei. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the seas east of Taiwan.

Mainly fine but hazy. Hot and dry in the afternoon. Light winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine and hot but hazy in the next couple of days.

    Strong winds in Nan'ao.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is prevailing over the south China coastal waters.

    At noon, Severe Tropical Storm Mitag with maximum sustained winds of about 105 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 19.0 degrees north, 126.3 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the seas east of Taiwan.

    Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

    Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
    East to northeast force 4, occasionally force 5.
    Some haze.
    Moderate seas.

    Nan'ao:
    North to northeast force 4 to 5, force 6 to 7 later.
    Moderate seas, becoming rough later.

    Shanwei, South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
    North to northeast force 4, occasionally force 5.
    Moderate seas.
