Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Under the influence of a dry continental airstream, the weather is generally fine over southern China. Locally, it was hazy in the afternoon. Visibility in the harbour once fell below 4000 metres.

At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Mitag was centred about 730 kilometres southeast of Taibei. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the seas east of Taiwan.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Fine but hazy. The minimum temperature will be about 27 degrees. Hot and dry during the day tomorrow. The maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Light to moderate northwesterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine and hot in the following few days. Still hazy on Tuesday and Wednesday.

    Strong winds in Nan'ao.

    Weather Situation:
    At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Mitag with maximum sustained winds of about 105 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 19.6 degrees north, 125.6 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the seas east of Taiwan.

    North to northwest force 4.
    Some haze.
    Moderate seas.

    Nan'ao:
    North to northeast force 5 to 6, becoming west to northwest force 6 to 7 later.
