Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Under the influence of a continental airstream, the weather is generally fine over Guangdong.

At noon, Typhoon Mitag was centred about 320 kilometres south-southeast of Taibei. It is forecast to move northwest or north-northwest at about 25 kilometres per hour, skirting the coastal waters of eastern Taiwan.

It will be fine. Very hot, dry and hazy in the afternoon. Light to moderate northwesterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine and hot in the next few days.

    At noon, Typhoon Mitag with maximum sustained winds of about 140 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 22.4 degrees north, 122.9 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest or north-northwest at about 25 kilometres per hour, skirting the coastal waters of eastern Taiwan.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 300300 UTC, Typhoon Mitag (1918) with central pressure 960 hectopascals was centred within 30 nautical miles of two two point two degrees north (22.2 N) one two two point nine degrees east (122.9 E) and is forecast to move northwest or north-northwest at about 14 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 75 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 210 nautical miles over eastern semicircle, 180 nautical miles elsewhere.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 60 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 63 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 300 nautical miles.

They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
