Widespread heavy rain may affect Hong Kong shortly. Members of the public should be on the alert.

A strong easterly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Meanwhile, an upper-air disturbance is bringing thundery showers to the northern part of the South China Sea.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with showers. Showers will be heavy at times with a few squally thunderstorms at first. Showers will ease off gradually tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 24 and 29 degrees. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, strong offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Sunny periods in the following couple of days.
