At 1 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 23 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 95 per cent.

Though rainstorm warning has been cancelled, people should stay alert to the danger that may be brought about by river flooding.

Strong winds are expected from the east. The public should beware of the possible danger brought by rough seas.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A strong easterly airstream affected the coast of Guangdong yesterday and an upper-air disturbance brought thundery showers to the region. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with showers and squally thunderstorms. Showers were heavy at times in the afternoon and at night. The easterly airstream and the upper-air disturbance will continue to affect the coast of Guangdong today.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy with showers. Showers will be heavy with squally thunderstorms at first. Showers will ease off gradually later. Temperatures will range between 23 and 28 degrees. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, strong offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Sunny periods in the following couple of days.
