At 3 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 25 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 92 per cent.

Gusts reaching 80 kilometres per hour or above may continue to affect Hong Kong.

Strong winds are expected from the east. The public should beware of the possible danger brought by rough seas.

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 4:30 a.m. today. A few squally thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong.
The Strong Monsoon Signal has been issued.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A strong easterly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Meanwhile, an upper-air disturbance is bringing thundery showers to the region. Locally, heavy showers around midnight brought more than 30 millimetres of rainfall to the urban areas and New Territories East.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with showers. Showers will be heavy at times with a few squally thunderstorms at first. Showers will ease off gradually. Temperatures will range between 23 and 28 degrees. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, strong offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Sunny periods in the following couple of days.
