At 7 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 25 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 93 per cent.

Strong winds are expected from the east. The public should beware of the possible danger brought by rough seas.

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 9:30 a.m. today. Isolated squally thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong.

A strong easterly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Meanwhile, an upper-air disturbance is bringing thundery showers to the region.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers. A few squally thunderstorms at first. Showers will ease off gradually. The maximum temperature will be about 28 degrees. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, strong offshore and on high ground at first.
