Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is affecting southern China. Locally, the relative humidity over the territory fell below 60 per cent in the afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Matmo was centred about 410 kilometres southeast of Da Nang. It is forecast to move west at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the southern part of Vietnam.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy and dry. Bright periods tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 22 and 26 degrees. Moderate to fresh east to northeasterly winds, occasionally strong offshore.

Outlook : Becoming fine in the following couple of days.

    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Matmo with maximum sustained winds of about 75 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 13.1 degrees north, 110.5 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the southern part of Vietnam.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 300600 UTC, Tropical Storm Matmo (1922) with central pressure 995 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one three point one degrees north (13.1 N) one one zero point seven degrees east (110.7 E) and is forecast to move west at about 12 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 40 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 120 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 240 nautical miles.

    Forecast position and intensity at 310600 UTC
    One three point nine degrees north (13.9 N)
    One zero six point one degrees east (106.1 E)
    Maximum winds 30 knots.

    Dissipated over land.

They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.
