The northeast monsoon is affecting southern China. Meanwhile, a band of clouds is covering the region.

At 10 a.m., Tropical Storm Matmo was centred about 640 kilometres southeast of Vientiane. It is forecast to move west at about 22 kilometres per hour across Indo-China and weaken gradually.

Weather forecast for today

Bright periods. One or two light rain patches in the morning and at night. Moderate to fresh east to northeasterly winds, occasionally strong offshore.

Outlook : Becoming fine in the next couple of days.

    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 10 a.m., Tropical Storm Matmo with maximum sustained winds of about 75 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 13.6 degrees north, 106.5 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 22 kilometres per hour across Indo-China and weaken gradually.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 310000 UTC, Tropical Storm Matmo (1922) with central pressure 990 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of one three point six degrees north (13.6 N) one zero seven point one degrees east (107.1 E) and is forecast to move west at about 12 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 40 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 120 nautical miles over northeast quadrant, 90 nautical miles elsewhere.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 240 nautical miles over northeast quadrant, 150 nautical miles elsewhere.

    Dissipated over land.
