Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China.

At 8 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri was centred about 460 kilometres northeast of Nansha. It is forecast to be slow-moving, lingering over the central and southern parts of the South China Sea.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Fine and dry. The minimum temperature tomorrow morning will be about 21 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be around 27 degrees during the day. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds, occasionally strong offshore later tomorrow.

Outlook : Mainly fine in the following few days. Windy and slightly cooler in the morning and at night over the weekend.

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 7 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri with maximum sustained winds of about 90 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 13.5 degrees north, 117.2 degrees east. It is forecast to be slow-moving, lingering over the the central and southern parts of the South China Sea.

    North to northeast force 5 to 6, up to force 7 later.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao:
    Northeast force 6 to 7, occasionally force 8.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 071200 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Nakri (1924) with central pressure 984 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one three point five degrees north (13.5 N) one one seven point two degrees east (117.2 E) and is forecast to be slow moving for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 50 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 150 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 60 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 300 nautical miles.

    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
