Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China. Locally, the relative humidity over the territory around noon fell to 50 per cent or below.

At noon, Severe Tropical Storm Nakri was centred about 340 kilometres northeast of Nansha. It is forecast to move west slowly across the central and southern parts of the South China Sea.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Fine and dry. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong offshore tonight.

Outlook : Mainly fine in the next few days. Windy and slightly cooler over the weekend.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At noon, Severe Tropical Storm Nakri with maximum sustained winds of about 105 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 12.8 degrees north, 116.3 degrees east. It is forecast to move west slowly, across the central and southern parts of the South China Sea.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 080300 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Nakri (1924) with central pressure 980 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one two point eight degrees north (12.8 N) one one six point five degrees east (116.5 E) and is forecast to move west slowly for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 55 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 150 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 300 nautical miles.
