Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China.

At 8 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri was centred about 280 kilometres northeast of Nansha. It is forecast to move west at about 12 kilometres per hour across the central and southern parts of the South China Sea.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Fine and dry. It will be slightly cooler. The minimum temperature tomorrow morning will be about 20 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be around 25 degrees during the day. Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds, strengthening from the east gradually.

Outlook : Mainly fine early to midweek next week with temperatures rising slightly.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 7 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri with maximum sustained winds of about 110 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 12.5 degrees north, 116.0 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 12 kilometres per hour across the central and southern parts of the South China Sea.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 081200 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Nakri (1924) with central pressure 975 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one two point four degrees north (12.4 N) one one five point seven degrees east (115.7 E) and is forecast to move west at about 6 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 60 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 150 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 300 nautical miles.
