Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is bringing fine weather to southern China.

At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri was centred about 720 kilometres east-southeast of Da Nang. It is forecast to move west at about 12 kilometres per hour towards the central part of Vietnam.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly fine and dry. The minimum temperature will be about 21 degrees in the urban areas tomorrow morning, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be around 26 degrees during the day. Moderate east to northeasterly winds, fresh offshore at first.

Outlook : Mainly fine in the following couple of days with temperatures rising slightly.

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri with maximum sustained winds of about 110 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 12.5 degrees north, 113.8 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 12 kilometres per hour towards the central part of Vietnam.

    East to northeast force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao:
    Northeast force 6 to 7, occasionally force 8.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 090900 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Nakri (1924) with central pressure 975 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one two point five degrees north (12.5 N) one one three point six degrees east (113.6 E) and is forecast to move west at about 6 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 60 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 150 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 60 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 300 nautical miles.

    One three point one degrees north (13.1 N)
    One one one point zero degrees east (111.0 E)
    Maximum winds 60 knots.

    One three point nine degrees north (13.9 N)

    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
