The northeast monsoon is bringing fine weather to southern China.

At 10 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri was centred about 510 kilometres southeast of Da Nang. It is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 14 kilometres per hour towards the central part of Vietnam.

Fine and dry. Moderate east to northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine in the next couple of days with temperatures rising slightly.

    Weather information for south China coastal waters issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 9:30 a.m. on 10 November 2019

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 9 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Nakri with maximum sustained winds of about 90 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 12.6 degrees north, 111.6 degrees east. It is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 14 kilometres per hour towards the central part of Vietnam.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 100000 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Nakri (1924) with central pressure 984 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one two point six degrees north (12.6 N) one one one point seven degrees east (111.7 E) and is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 8 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 50 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 120 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 60 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 300 nautical miles.

    Forecast position and intensity at 110000 UTC
    One three point two degrees north (13.2 N)
    One zero eight point four degrees east (108.4 E)
    Maximum winds 35 knots.

    Dissipated over land.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
