Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A cold front has formed over the northern part of southern China and is moving southwards gradually. It is expected to reach the coastal areas tonight.

The area of low pressure over the seas east of the Philippines has intensified into a tropical depression and was named Kalmaegi. At 10 a.m., Kalmaegi was centred 870 kilometres east-southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly fine and dry. Moderate east to northeasterly winds, becoming fresh northerlies tonight.

Outlook : Fine and dry in the next couple of days. It will be cooler in the morning and at night.

    Weather information for south China coastal waters issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 10:05 a.m. on 13 November 2019

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

    Weather Situation:
    A cold front has formed over the northern part of southern China and is moving southwards gradually. It is expected to reach the coastal areas tonight.

    The area of low pressure over the seas east of the Philippines has intensified into a tropical depression and was named Kalmaegi. At 10 a.m., Kalmaegi with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 12.8 degrees north, 128.8 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

    East to northeast force 5 to 6, becoming north to northeast force 7 later.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao:
    Northeast force 5 to 6, becoming north to northeast force 7 to 8 later.

    Shanwei, South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
    East to northeast force 5 to 6, becoming north to northeast force 7 later.
