A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China.

At noon, Tropical Depression Kalmaegi was centred about 650 kilometres east of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Fine and dry. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Fine and dry in the next couple of days. Winds strengthening from the north next Monday night. Cool on Tuesday morning.

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At noon, Tropical Depression Kalmaegi with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 14.7 degrees north, 127.0 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

    Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
    North to northeast force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7, becoming east force 5 to 6 later.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao:
    North to northeast force 6 to 7, occasionally force 8, becoming east force 5 to 6 later.

    Shanwei:
    North to northeast force 6 to 7, becoming east force 5 to 6 later.
