Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China. Locally, the relative humidity generally stayed below 70 per cent in the afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Kalmaegi was centred about 460 kilometres east-northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly fine. The minimum temperature will be about 22 degrees in the morning. Dry during the day with a maximum temperature of around 28 degrees. Appreciably cooler tomorrow night with temperatures falling to around 19 degrees. Light winds, becoming moderate northerlies tomorrow, strengthening gradually later.

Outlook : Cooler in the following couple of days.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Kalmaegi with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 16.6 degrees north, 124.7 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    Tropical Storm Kalmaegi (1926) has entered the area of responsibility of the Hong Kong Observatory.

    At 170600 UTC, Tropical Storm Kalmaegi (1926) with central pressure 998 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of one six point five degrees north (16.5 N) one two four point nine degrees east (124.9 E) and is forecast to move northwest at about 6 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 35 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 150 nautical miles.

    One eight point one degrees north (18.1 N)
    One two three point two degrees east (123.2 E)
    Maximum winds 40 knots.

    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
