Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A cold front has moved across the coastal areas of Guangdong. The associated intense northeast monsoon is affecting the region.

At 10 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi was centred about 510 kilometres north-northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of Luzon Strait.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly fine and dry. Cool tomorrow morning with a minimum temperature of around 17 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be about 23 degrees during the day. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong offshore.

Outlook : Dry with sunny periods in the following couple of days. Cooler on Wednesday morning.

    Weather Situation:
    The cold front is crossing the coastal waters of Guangdong, and the associated intense northeast monsoon will affect the region gradually.

    At 10 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi with maximum sustained winds of about 105 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 18.8 degrees north, 122.8 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of Luzon Strait.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 181200 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi (1926) with central pressure 980 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of one eight point eight degrees north (18.8 N) one two two point nine degrees east (122.9 E) and is forecast to move west at about 5 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 55 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 120 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 180 nautical miles.

    One eight point zero degrees north (18.0 N)
    One two zero point eight degrees east (120.8 E)
