Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China. Locally, the relative humidity over most parts of the territory stayed around 60 per cent or below in the afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi was centred about 520 kilometres north-northeast of Manila. It is forecast to be slow-moving at first, and then move southwest across Luzon later.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly fine and dry. Relatively cool tomorrow morning. The minimum temperature will be around 18 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be about 24 degrees during the day. Moderate northerly winds, becoming fresh easterlies later tomorrow.

Outlook : Mainly fine and dry with temperatures rising gradually in the following couple of days.

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi with maximum sustained winds of about 105 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 19.1 degrees north, 122.1 degrees east. It is forecast to be slow-moving at first, and then move southwest across Luzon later.

    Moderate to rough seas.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 190900 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi (1926) with central pressure 980 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of one nine point two degrees north (19.2 N) one two two point three degrees east (122.3 E) and is forecast to be slow moving at first and then will move southwest at about 10 kt for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 55 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 120 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 60 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 180 nautical miles.

    Dissipated over sea.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
