Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China.

Tropical Storm Kalmaegi has weakened into a tropical depression. At noon, Kalmaegi was centred about 260 kilometres north of Manila. It is forecast to move southwest at about 30 kilometres per hour and weaken further in the vicinity of Luzon. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Fung-wong was centred about 740 kilometres east-northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of Luzon Strait.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly fine. Dry in the afternoon. Moderate east to northeasterly winds, becoming fresh later.

Outlook : Mainly fine and dry with temperatures rising gradually in the next couple of days.

    Weather information for south China coastal waters issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 12:30 p.m. on 20 November 2019

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    Tropical Storm Kalmaegi has weakened into a tropical depression. At noon, Kalmaegi with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 16.9 degrees north, 121.0 degrees east, it is forecast to move southwest at about 30 kilometres per hour and weaken further in the vicinity of Luzon. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Fung-wong with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 17.1 degrees north, 127.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of Luzon Strait.

    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao:

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    Tropical Storm Kalmaegi (1926) has weakened into a Tropical Depression with central pressure 998 hectopascals. At 200300 UTC, it was centred within 90 nautical miles of one seven point zero degrees north (17.0 N) one two one point two degrees east (121.2 E) and is forecast to move southwest at about 16 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 30 knots.

    Radius of over 2 metre waves 120 nautical miles.

    No further warnings on this Tropical Depression will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless re-intensification takes place.

    Dissipated over land.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
