Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to southern China. Locally, the relative humidity over most parts of the territory fell below 50 per cent in the afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Fung-wong was centred about 460 kilometres east-southeast of Gaoxiong. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour towards the seas east of Taiwan.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Fine and dry. The minimum temperature will be about 19 degrees in the urban areas tomorrow, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be around 26 degrees during the day. Moderate northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine with temperatures rising gradually over the weekend. Temperature difference between day and night will be relatively large over inland areas.

    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Fung-wong with maximum sustained winds of about 110 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 20.8 degrees north, 124.3 degrees east. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour towards the seas east of Taiwan.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 210900 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Fung-wong (1927) with central pressure 975 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two one point one degrees north (21.1 N) one two four point three degrees east (124.3 E) and is forecast to move north-northwest at about 6 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 60 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 45 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 180 nautical miles.

    Two three point seven degrees north (23.7 N)
