Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon brought generally fine weather to southern China yesterday. Locally, the weather was mainly fine and dry during the day with the relative humidity over most parts of the territory falling below 50 per cent. As the northeast monsoon is expected to moderate in the next couple of days, temperatures over Guangdong will rise gradually.

Besides, Tropical Storm Fung-wong intensified into a severe tropical storm yesterday morning. At 11 p.m. last night, Fung-wong was centered about 440 kilometres east-southeast of Gaoxiong. It is forecast to move north or north-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour across the seas east of Taiwan.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Friday, 22 Nov 2019)

Fine. The minimum temperature in the morning will be about 19 degrees in the urban areas, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories. Dry during the day with a maximum temperature of around 26 degrees. Moderate northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine with temperatures rising gradually over the weekend. Temperature difference between day and night will be relatively large over inland areas.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

At 11 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Fung-wong with maximum sustained winds of about 110 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 21.5 degrees north, 124.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move north or north-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour across the seas east of Taiwan.

Tropical Cyclone Warning

At 211500 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Fung-wong (1927) with central pressure 975 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two one point six degrees north (21.6 N) one two four point three degrees east (124.3 E) and is forecast to move north or north-northwest at about 6 knots for the next 24 hours.

Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 60 knots.

Radius of over 33 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
Radius of over 47 knot winds 45 nautical miles.
Radius of over 2 metre waves 180 nautical miles.

Two four point five degrees north (24.5 N)
One two four point one degrees east (124.1 E)
Maximum winds 35 knots.

Dissipated over sea.

They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
