Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A maritime airstream affected the coast of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with sunny intervals during the day. The maritime airstream is expected to bring warm and humid weather to the coastal areas of Guangdong in the next couple of days.

At 11 p.m. last night, the tropical depression in the vicinity of the Philippines was centred about 600 kilometres southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour across the central part of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Sunday, 16 Apr 2017)

Mainly cloudy. Coastal fog in the morning. Sunny periods during the day. Temperatures will range between 23 and 28 degrees. Light to moderate southeasterly winds.

Outlook : Sunny periods in the following couple of days.

Weather Situation:
A southeasterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal waters.

At 11 p.m., the tropical depression in the vicinity of the Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 11.2 degrees north, 125.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour across the central part of the Philippines.

Note
  1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during the period 1987-2016, the background ambient gamma radiation levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.
  2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert. Protective action may be required if there is an increase in the ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of 5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.
  3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
