Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

An intense winter monsoon is bringing cold weather to the coast of Guangdong. Locally, temperatures around noon were generally about 10 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

It will be cold. Cloudy to overcast with one or two rain patches. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Cold weather will persist until early next week. The minimum temperature will be generally 9 degrees or below. Dry and becoming brighter gradually towards the weekend.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 040600 UTC, Tropical Depression Bolaven (1801) has weakened into an area of low pressure.

    No further warnings on this area of low pressure will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless regeneration takes place.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
