Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The winter monsoon affecting southern China moderated gradually and an easterly airstream affected the coastal areas of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was fine and dry. Under the influence of a humid easterly airstream, temperatures will rise progressively over the coast of Guangdong today and tomorrow.

Besides, Tropical Cyclone Sanba intensified from a tropical depression into a tropical storm yesterday. At 11 p.m. last night, Sanba was centred about 590 kilometres south-southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west at about 25 kilometres per hour across the southern part of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy. Cool in the morning. The minimum temperature will be about 14 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. Sunny periods during the day with a maximum temperature of around 19 degrees. Coastal mist at night. Moderate easterly winds.

Outlook : The weather will be mild and humid with fog during the Lunar New Year's Eve and the New Year Holidays.
