At 11 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 25 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 91 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 0.6. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

A band of thundery showers is moving across the Pearl River Estuary, and will affect Hong Kong shortly. Members of the public should be on the alert.

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 1:00 p.m. today. A few thunderstorms are expected to occur over Lantau, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure is crossing the coast of Guangdong, and bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region. Locally, more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over Tuen Mun and Hong Kong Island this morning.

Weather forecast for today

Cloudy with showers. Showers will be heavy at times with a few thunderstorms in the morning. Showers will ease off in the afternoon. Light winds, becoming moderate northerlies.

Outlook : Mainly cloudy in the next couple of days.
