Weather information for south China coastal waters issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 4:30 p.m. on 03 June 2018

Strong winds in all areas.

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal waters.

At 4 p.m., the tropical depression over the central part of the South China Sea with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 14.6 degrees north, 111.1 degrees east. It is forecast to move north at about 12 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of Hainan Island.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
A few showers.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
East force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

South of Hong Kong:
East force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
Scattered squally showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Shangchuan Dao:
East force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
