Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

An easterly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Meanwhile, showers are affecting the region. Locally, showers brought more than 5 millimetres of rainfall to many places this morning.

At 5 a.m., the tropical depression over the central part of the South China Sea was centred about 220 kilometres southwest of Xisha. It is forecast to move north at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of Hainan Island.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Hot with sunny intervals during the day. The maximum temperature will be about 32 degrees. Moderate easterly winds, occasionally fresh offshore.

Outlook : There will be squally showers and thunderstorms in the next couple of days.
