Warnings:
Gale force winds in Shangchuan Dao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao, Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

Weather Situation:
At 3 a.m., the tropical depression over the northern part of the South China Sea with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 20.4 degrees north, 111.0 degrees east. It is forecast to move north or north-northwest slowly towards the vicinity of western Guangdong.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to southeast force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
Scattered squally showers and thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at times.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao, Shanwei and South of Hong Kong:

Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.

At 3 a.m., the tropical depression over the northern part of the South China Sea was estimated to be about 390 kilometres west-southwest of Hong Kong (near 20.4 degrees north 111.0 degrees east) and is forecast to move north or north-northwest slowly towards the vicinity of western Guangdong.

Tropical Cyclone Warning

At 051800 UTC, Tropical Depression over the northern part of South China Sea with central pressure 998 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of two zero point four degrees north (20.4 N) one one one point one degrees east (111.1 E) and is forecast to be slow moving for the next 24 hours.

Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 30 knots.

Radius of over 2 metre waves 90 nautical miles.

One one zero point nine degrees east (110.9 E)
Maximum winds 40 knots.

The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
