    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Shangchuan Dao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao, Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

    Weather Situation:
    At 3 a.m., Tropical Storm Ewiniar with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 22.2 degrees north, 112.0 degrees east. It is forecast to move north or north-northeast slowly towards the inland areas of western Guangdong.

    South to southeast force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7 at first.
    Scattered squally showers and thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at times.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

    Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

    The Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 is in force.

    This means that winds with mean speeds of 41 to 62 kilometres per hour are expected.

    At 4 a.m., Tropical Storm Ewiniar was estimated to be about 220 kilometres west of Hong Kong (near 22.3 degrees north 112.0 degrees east) and is forecast to move north or north-northeast slowly towards the inland areas of western Guangdong.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 071800 UTC, Tropical Storm Ewiniar (1804) with central pressure 995 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two two point one degrees north (22.1 N) one one two point zero degrees east (112.0 E) and is forecast to move north or north-northeast slowly for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 35 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 150 nautical miles.

    Forecast position and intensity at 081800 UTC
    Two three point one degrees north (23.1 N)
    One one two point two degrees east (112.2 E)
    Maximum winds 25 knots.

    Forecast position and intensity at 091800 UTC
    Dissipated over land.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
