Warnings:
Gale force winds in Shangchuan Dao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao, Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

Weather Situation:
At noon, Tropical Storm Ewiniar with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 23.0 degrees north, 112.3 degrees east. It is forecast to move north or north-northeast slowly towards the inland areas of western Guangdong and weaken gradually. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Maliksi with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 18.4 degrees north, 127.8 degrees east. It is forecast to move north at about 20 kilometres per hour across the western North Pacific.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
South to southeast force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7 at first.
Scattered squally showers and thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at times.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:

Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 is in force.

This means that winds with mean speeds of 41 to 62 kilometres per hour are expected.

At 1 p.m., Tropical Storm Ewiniar was estimated to be about 200 kilometres west-northwest of Hong Kong (near 23.0 degrees north 112.4 degrees east) and is forecast to move north or north-northeast slowly towards the inland areas of western Guangdong and weaken gradually.

Tropical Cyclone Warning

At 080300 UTC, Tropical Storm Ewiniar (1804) with central pressure 995 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of two two point nine degrees north (22.9 N) one one two point three degrees east (112.3 E) and is forecast to move north or north-northeast slowly for the next 24 hours.

Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 35 knots.

Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
Radius of over 2 metre waves 120 nautical miles.

Forecast position and intensity at 090300 UTC
Two three point six degrees north (23.6 N)
One one two point five degrees east (112.5 E)
Maximum winds 25 knots.

Dissipated over land.




The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
