Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The local weather was very hot today with temperatures rising to 33 degrees or above over most parts of territory in the afternoon.

Tropical Depression Prapiroon has intensified into a tropical storm. At 4 p.m., Prapiroon was centred about 700 kilometres south-southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands and intensify gradually.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with isolated showers. The minimum temperature will be about 28 degrees. Very hot with sunny periods tomorrow. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees. Moderate southwesterly winds, occasionally fresh offshore.

Outlook : A few showers in the following few days.

    Weather information for south China coastal waters issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 4:30 p.m. on 29 June 2018

    Weather Situation:
    A southwesterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    Tropical Depression Prapiroon has intensified into a tropical storm. At 4 p.m., Prapiroon with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 20.3 degrees north, 130.0 degrees east. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands and intensify gradually.

    Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
