Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The southwest monsoon is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong. Locally, more than 20 millimetres of rainfall were recorded in many places this morning.

At noon, Typhoon Prapiroon was centred about 120 kilometres west of Nagasaki. It is forecast to move north-northeast at about 25 kilometres per hour across the East China Sea.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and a few squally thunderstorms. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.

Outlook : Isolated thunderstorms at first tomorrow. Showers will ease off in the latter part of this week and the weather will be hot with sunny periods.
