Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The southwest monsoon brought showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional showers and squally thunderstorms. More than 20 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places, and rainfall even exceeded 50 millimetres over Tsuen Wan, Shatin, and Tai Po. The southwest monsoon is expected to moderate gradually in the next couple of days, showers will ease off with sunny periods over the coast of Guangdong.

Besides, Prapiroon weakened from a typhoon into a severe tropical storm yesterday. At 11 p.m. last night, Prapiroon was centred about 140 kilometres east-southeast of Busan. It is forecast to move northeast at about 25 kilometres per hour towards the Sea of Japan, and gradually evolve into an extratropical cyclone.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. There will be isolated thunderstorms at first. Sunny intervals in the afternoon. Temperatures will range between 27 and 32 degrees. Moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh at times.

Outlook : Showers will ease off in the following couple of days and the weather will be hot with sunny periods.
