At 10 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 31 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 76 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 2. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Hot weather might cause adverse health effects. The Observatory advises the public to stay on the alert.

The southwest monsoon is bringing showers to the coast of Guangdong. Locally, more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over Lantau Island and parts of the New Territories this morning.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy. A few showers at first, showers will be heavier with thunderstorms in isolated areas. Hot with sunny periods in the afternoon. Moderate south to southwesterly winds.

Outlook : Hot with sunny periods in the next few days.
