Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers to the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong.

At noon, Super Typhoon Maria was centred about 1150 kilometres east-southeast of Taibei. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 30 kilometres per hour in the general direction of north of Taiwan.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. Sunny intervals in the afternoon. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, gusty at times.

Outlook : Very hot with sunny periods in the next couple of days. The weather will be unsettled in the latter part of this week.
