Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A broad trough of low pressure brought showers to the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with sunny intervals and a few showers. More than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places.

At 11 p.m. last night, Super Typhoon Maria was centred about 830 kilometres east-southeast of Taibei. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 30 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the northern part of Taiwan. The subsiding air in the outer circulation of Maria is expected to bring very hot weather to southeastern China today.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy with isolated showers at first. The minimum temperature will be about 26 degrees. Becoming fine and hot during the day with a maximum temperature of around 32 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Moderate east to northeasterly winds, fresh at first.

Outlook : Very hot with haze on Wednesday. The weather will be unsettled in the following few days.

Weather Situation:
A broad trough of low pressure is bringing unsettled weather to the south China coastal waters.

At 11 p.m., Super Typhoon Maria with maximum sustained winds of about 210 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 23.2 degrees north, 129.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 30 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the northern part of Taiwan.
