Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea.

At noon, Tropical Storm Ampil was centred about 460 kilometres southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy with sunny periods and a few showers. Moderate easterly winds, occasionally fresh offshore.

Outlook : Hot with sunny periods and one or two showers over the weekend.
