At 5 p.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 31 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 73 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 3. The intensity of UV radiation was moderate.

The area of low pressure over the central and northern parts of the South China Sea is expected to move eastwards towards the vicinity of Luzon Strait and away from Hong Kong in the next couple of days. It will not pose direct threat to Hong Kong.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The weather is generally fine over southeastern China. Meanwhile, an area of low pressure over the central and northern parts of the South China Sea is bringing unsettled weather to the region.

At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Ampil was centred about 410 kilometres southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with isolated showers. The minimum temperature will be about 27 degrees. Very hot with sunny periods during the day tomorrow. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees. Moderate easterly winds, occasionally fresh offshore at first, weakening tomorrow.

Outlook : Very hot and mainly fine with isolated showers on Sunday. More showers in the following couple of days.
