    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao and Shanwei.

    Weather Situation:
    At noon, Tropical Storm Bebinca with maximum sustained winds of about 75 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 20.6 degrees north, 113.0 degrees east. It is forecast to move slowly, lingering around the seas off the coast of western Guangdong.

    Tropical Cyclone Warnings

    Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

    Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

    The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.

    This means that a tropical cyclone now centred within about 800 kilometres of Hong Kong may affect us.

    At noon, Tropical Storm Bebinca was estimated to be about 220 kilometres south-southwest of Hong Kong (near 20.6 degrees north 113.0 degrees east) and is forecast to move slowly, lingering around the seas off the coast of western Guangdong.

    According to the present forecast track, Bebinca is expected to be slow moving. Bebinca will maintain a distance of about 200 kilometres from Hong Kong during daytime. Unless Bebinca intensifies significantly, the chance of issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 during daytime is relatively low.

    The track of Bebinca will still be relatively erratic. The Observatory will closely monitor the development and movement of Bebinca. The Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 will only be considered when local wind is expected to strengthen.

    1. Every precaution should be taken. Objects likely to be blown away should be secured or taken indoors. Check if all windows and doors can be securely locked.

    2. There may be swells, you are advised to stay away from the shoreline.

    3. People planning to visit Guangdong, Macau, outlying islands or remote parts of Hong Kong should note that changes in weather may affect your trips.

    4. Drains should be cleared of leaves and rubbish. People in low-lying areas should take precautions against flooding.

    5. Fishing vessels and low power vessels in open sea should seek shelter as soon as possible and be secured properly with moorings.

    6. Listen to radio, watch TV or browse the Hong Kong Observatory's website and mobile app for the latest information on the tropical cyclone.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 130300 UTC, the tropical storm Bebinca (1816) with central pressure 988 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two zero point six degrees north (20.6 N) one one three point zero degrees east (113.0 E) and is forecast to be slow moving for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 40 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 90 nautical miles over northern semicircle, 120 nautical miles elsewhere.

    Two one point zero degrees north (21.0 N)
    One one three point one degrees east (113.1 E)
    Maximum winds 45 knots.

    Two one point four degrees north (21.4 N)

    Maximum winds 50 knots.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 122100 UTC, Tropical Storm Yagi (1814) with central pressure 990 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of three zero point one degrees north (30.1 N) one two zero point one degrees east (120.1 E) and is forecast to move northwest at about 16 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 40 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 240 nautical miles.

    No further warnings on this Tropical Storm will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless it re-enters the Hong Kong area of responsibility.

    Dissipated over land.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
