    Warnings:
    Storm force winds in south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao. Gale force winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters. Strong winds in Nan'ao and Shanwei.

    Weather Situation:
    At noon, Tropical Storm Bebinca with maximum sustained winds of about 85 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 21.0 degrees north, 113.7 degrees east. It is forecast to move slowly northward, gradually edging closer to the Pearl River Estuary.

    East to southeast force 6 to 7, becoming force 8.
    Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
    Rough seas, becoming very rough seas.

    Tropical Cyclone Warnings

    Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

    Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

    The Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 is in force.

    This means that winds with mean speeds of 41 to 62 kilometres per hour are expected.

    At noon, Tropical Storm Bebinca was estimated to be about 150 kilometres south-southwest of Hong Kong (near 21.0 degrees north 113.7 degrees east) and is forecast to move slowly northward, gradually edging closer to the Pearl River Estuary.

    According to the present forecast track, it is expected that the chance of Gales or Storm Signal, No. 8 before 6 p.m. is relatively low.

    Rain bands associated with Bebinca will bring squally showers to the territory. The public should stay on the alert and take note of the latest weather situation.

    1. Please take precautions now. Make sure objects likely to be blown away are securely fastened or taken indoors.

    2. Drains should be cleared of leaves and rubbish.

    3. Owing to storm surge, some low-lying areas may have flooding or backflow of seawater. Please take precautions, and stay away from dangerous places.

    4. Seas are rough and there are swells, you are advised to stay away from the shoreline and low-lying areas, and not to engage in water sports.

    5. Avoid staying in areas exposed to high winds. Drivers using highways and flyovers should be alert to violent gusts.

    6. Small vessels not yet in typhoon shelters should seek shelter without delay. Use heavy anchors and check that all deck fittings are firmly fastened.

    7. Listen to radio, watch TV or browse the Hong Kong Observatory's website and mobile app for the latest information on the tropical cyclone.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 140300 UTC, the tropical storm Bebinca (1816) with central pressure 984 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two zero point nine degrees north (20.9 N) one one three point seven degrees east (113.7 E) and is forecast to move north slowly for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 45 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 120 nautical miles over southern semicircle, 90 nautical miles elsewhere.

    Two one point eight degrees north (21.8 N)
    One one two point six degrees east (112.6 E)
    Maximum winds 50 knots.

    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
