Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Showers associated with Tropical Cyclone Bebinca affected the coast of Guangdong today. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional showers. More than 5 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over most parts of the territory. Bebinca is expected to move across the vicinity of Leizhou Peninsula and Beibu Wan in the next couple of days. There will still be a few showers over the coast of Guangdong.

Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca weakened into a tropical storm at night. At 11 p.m., Bebinca was centred about 50 kilometres south-southwest of Zhanjiang. It is forecast to move west-southwest at about 10 kilometres per hour across Leizhou Peninsula and enter Beibu Wan. The area of low pressure near the Ryukyu Islands gradually intensified into a tropical storm and was named Rumbia today. At 11 p.m., Rumbia was centred about 510 kilometres east of Hangzhou. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour across the East China Sea. Besides, Tropical Cyclone Leepi weakened into an area of low pressure over the seas south of Korean Peninsula today.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Thursday, 16 Aug 2018)

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 27 and 30 degrees. Moderate south to southeasterly winds.

Outlook : A few showers in the following couple of days. Sunny intervals during the weekend.

Warnings:
Gale force winds in Shangchuan Dao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao, Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

Weather Situation:
Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca has weakened into a tropical storm. At 11 p.m., Bebinca with maximum sustained winds of about 85 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 20.8 degrees north, 110.2 degrees east, it is forecast to move west-southwest at about 10 kilometres per hour across Leizhou Peninsula and enter Beibu Wan Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Rumbia with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 29.4 degrees north, 125.4 degrees east, it is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour across the East China Sea.

Tropical Cyclone Warning

At 151200 UTC, Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca (1816) with central pressure 980 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two zero point nine degrees north (20.9 N) one one zero point eight degrees east (110.8 E) and is forecast to move west-southwest at about 5 knots for the next 24 hours.

Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 50 knots.

Radius of over 33 knot winds 60 nautical miles.
Radius of over 47 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
Radius of over 2 metre waves 120 nautical miles over southern semicircle, 90 nautical miles elsewhere.

Two zero point five degrees north (20.5 N)
One zero eight point nine degrees east (108.9 E)
Maximum winds 50 knots.

They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
