Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Winds were weak over Guangdong yesterday, and thundery showers triggered by high temperatures affected the region. Locally, there were sunny periods and also a few showers. Thunderstorms and more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over parts of the New Territories in the afternoon. Under the influence of an easterly airstream, there will be a few showers over the south China coast today and tomorrow.

Besides, Tropical Cyclone Trami intensified progressively from a severe tropical storm into a severe typhoon yesterday. At 11 p.m. last night, Trami was centred about 1420 kilometres east-southeast of Gaoxiong. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour across the western North Pacific.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy with sunny intervals. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 26 and 31 degrees. Light to moderate easterly winds.

Outlook : Sunny periods and a few showers in the following couple of days. Mainly fine and dry in the latter part of this week.
