Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Showers and thunderstorms affected Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea today. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Showers were heavy in the morning. More than 30 millimetres of rainfall were generally recorded over the territory, and rainfall even exceeded 70 millimetres over Tai Po, Kwai Tsing and Kowloon. An easterly airstream is expected to affect the south China coast tomorrow.

Besides, Tropical Cyclone Trami intensified from a severe typhoon into a super typhoon this morning. At 11 p.m., Trami was centred about 1010 kilometres east-southeast of Gaoxiong. It is forecast to move slowly across the western North Pacific.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Tuesday, 25 Sep 2018)

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Showers will ease off gradually. There will be sunny periods during the day. Temperatures will range between 25 and 30 degrees. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, occasionally strong offshore at first.

Outlook : Becoming fine and dry with relatively large temperature difference between day and night in the following couple of days.

Warnings:
Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal waters.

At 11 p.m., Super Typhoon Trami with maximum sustained winds of about 205 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 19.5 degrees north, 129.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move slowly across the western North Pacific.

Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao:
