Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine and dry weather to southern China. Locally, the relative humidity over the territory fell below 50 per cent around noon.

At noon, Super Typhoon Kong-rey was centred about 650 kilometres south-southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Fine. Very dry in the afternoon. Moderate east to northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Fine and very dry for the rest of the week. The temperature difference will be rather large between day and night. Becoming cloudier early next week.

    Strong winds in Nan'ao, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At noon, Super Typhoon Kong-rey with maximum sustained winds of about 205 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 20.6 degrees north, 129.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands.

    East to northeast force 5, becoming north force 5 later.
    Moderate seas.

    Nan'ao and Shanwei:
    Northeast force 6 to 7, becoming north force 6 to 7 later.
