Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The northeast monsoon is affecting the coast of Guangdong.

At noon, Tropical Depression Toraji was centred about 350 kilometres east of Ho Chi Minh City. It is forecast to move west at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the southern part of Vietnam. Besides, an area of low pressure is bringing unsettled weather to the seas east of the southern part of the Philippines. A tropical cyclone appears to be forming.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Sunny intervals in the afternoon. Mainly cloudy with one or two rain patches and relatively low visibility in some areas tonight. Moderate to fresh east to northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Slightly cooler tomorrow. A few rain patches on Wednesday and temperatures will fall at night. Cooler in the following couple of days.

    The northeast monsoon is affecting the coastal waters of Guangdong.

    At noon, Tropical Depression Toraji with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 11.3 degrees north, 109.8 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the southern part of Vietnam.

    A few rain patches. Visibility relatively low in some areas.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 180300 UTC, Tropical Depression Toraji (1827) with central pressure 1002 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of one one point three degrees north (11.3 N) one zero nine point nine degrees east (109.9 E) and is forecast to move west at about 6 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 30 knots.

    Radius of over 2 metre waves 90 nautical miles.

    Dissipated over land.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
