Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The northeast monsoon affected southern China yesterday. Locally, there were one or two rain patches yesterday morning and sunny intervals during the day. Besides, pressure over northern China rose yesterday. A replenishment of the northeast monsoon is expected to reach the south China coastal areas tonight.

An area of low pressure over the seas east of the Philippines intensified into a tropical depression yesterday. At 11 p.m. last night, the tropical depression was centred about 720 kilometres southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west at about 20 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Wednesday, 21 Nov 2018)

Mainly cloudy. Sunny intervals during the day. The maximum temperature will be about 25 degrees. A few rain patches and relatively low visibility later. Moderate easterly winds, becoming northerlies at night with temperatures falling to around 21 degrees at midnight.

Outlook : Becoming cool appreciably on Thursday morning. Dry with sunny periods in the following couple of days.

    Weather information for south China coastal waters issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 11:30 p.m. on 20 November 2018

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in all areas.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters. A replenishment of the monsoon is expected to reach the region on Wednesday night.

    At 11 p.m., the tropical depression to the east of the Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 10.5 degrees north, 126.2 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 20 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.
